May 20, 2012, at the Avalon Hotel and Conference Center, Chippewa Falls, WI. For a map and more information, click on the Conference Details link.
The emphasis this year is a little different than in the past. The last session largely revolved around the blogging community in Wisconsin. Although there will certainly be some of that this year, our emphasis is a little broader. We'd like to have organizing sessions around various progressive topics in the state, and to help work with people on how they can make their voices heard more effectively. However, in the end, the conference sessions will be whatever people propose, and which are popular. So - propose a session if you'd like to see something happen that is not in there. It does not have to be a session you are volunteering to lead - just a session you would like to see happen.
The schedule is still being worked on. We are still asking for session proposals, and will continue to accept them until there is no room left in the schedule. A final session schedule will be emailed to you all shortly before the conference takes place.
Yes, there will be a light continental breakfast with coffee 30 minutes before the conference starts, and there will be a catered lunch. Both are included in the registration price. You will be asked for food preferences when you register.
Of course - free wireless networking is available throughout the hotel complex and conference center.
A lot of people will be staying for the weekend so they can attend both FightingBobFest North and Netroots Wisconsin. There are several different hotels in the Chippewa Falls area, and we will have rooms at a special Netroots Wisconsin rate at the Avalon Hotel (Just tell them you are coming for Netroots Wisconsin - reservation number is B1KT12). The Discount block at the hotel is available for $87 per night for a non-smoking queen bed room. There is also camping at the fairgrounds, where FightingBobFest North is being held.
