The focus of the conference was around the 2010 state elections, the candidates, and building strong progressive infrastructure in the state.

Netroots Wisconsin - Where are we going?

Netroots Wisconsin has largely been my own project.  I'd like to change that.  This will be a discussion over the lunch hour about what we should do about Netroots Wisconsin in the future.  Bigger sponsors?  Ongoing discussions on-line?  Working groups on different topics? Informal get-togethers?  Or should we just go away and let corporate interests take over the state?

How will this help build Wisconsin Netroots?:
We need to make some decisions about whether this working group will continue, and if so, in what form?

The Cheddarsphere is strong! Blogs were on the front lines of the Wisconsin Uprising, oftentimes breaking stories and staying way ahead of the state and national media narratives - providing crucial, on-the-ground perspectives and news to a public hungry for real information. Blogs also provide crucial information about often ignored local issues and give voice to people and communities that might not otherwise get heard.

How will this help build Wisconsin Netroots?:
This training will contribute to building stronger blogs and bloggers, as well as community activists, by helping provide the tools to write stronger, more well-researched, clearly written pieces - and how to reach out to and build a bigger audience for those blogs and the community-based stories they tell.
